I'm fighting middle aged pudge (damn shift in estrogen) but still all too familiar with the internal narrative about the woman who must be pushed to collapse, punished for...I presume, existing. I try to not do that to myself so much anymore but the pattern (overwork, usually) is hard to break. What are we punishing ourselves for? If it is for existence, at age 55 I would truly rather flourish out of spite (or a healthier motive).
