God grant me the calm of a cup of hot tea
and the equanimity of brown noise,
as if I am flying 30,000 feet above
the details and demands of the day,
able to look down with infinite compassion
on all the ways we fail each other
and all the ways we never stop loving.
On this Solstice, please pour me out
and refill me with your light.
Let me be a vessel for repair
and reverence.
Teach me to set my ego aside
in the name of always learning.
Help me breathe peace
into the aggravated corners
of my body.
Let the cold wind clear my head
and the weak sun carry
the promise of warmth
to come.
And let us say: Amen.
Amen. Amen. Amen.
Yet another “Amen!”
